MIGS Launches New Project on the Crime of Aggression with Support from the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs
The Montreal Institute for Global Security (MIGS) is proud to announce the launch of a new international initiative focused on advancing accountability for the crime of aggression—one of the core crimes under international law.
This timely project is made possible through generous support from the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and will be implemented in close partnership with the Global Institute for the Prevention of Aggression (GIPA), a leading organization in the field of international criminal justice.
We are also pleased to share that MIGS Senior Fellow Dr. David Donat Cattin, an internationally recognized expert on international law and global justice, will serve as Project Coordinator. Dr. Donat Cattin brings extensive experience from his work with parliamentarians, international courts, and global institutions to advance the rule of law and strengthen accountability for the most serious international crimes.
This initiative will aim to:
- Raise awareness about the crime of aggression and its implications for international peace and security.
- Support dialogue among legal experts, civil society, and policymakers on the enforcement of international norms.
- Promote efforts to strengthen the international legal framework and prevent future acts of aggression.
MIGS is honoured to contribute to this crucial global conversation at a time when the international community must reaffirm its commitment to justice, accountability, and the rule of law.
Stay tuned for updates and events as the project unfolds.
