MIGS Announces New Members to the Board of Directors

The Montreal Institute for Global Security (MIGS) is pleased to announce the appointment of distinguished leaders to its Board of Directors, reinforcing the Institute’s commitment to advancing rigorous, policy-relevant research on global security challenges.

The new members bring a wealth of expertise spanning geopolitics, defense, business, law, public policy, and academia:

• Martin Corbo, whose legal and strategic advisory experience will support MIGS’s institutional growth and governance.
• Elisabeth Vallet, Associate Professor and Research Director in geopolitics at the Raoul-Dandurand Chair (UQAM), and Professor of International Studies at the Royal Military College Saint-Jean, is a leading voice on borders, security, and international affairs.
• John Packer, Associate Professor of Law at the University of Ottawa, is an internationally recognized expert in human rights, conflict prevention, and international law.
• Margaret BK Shepherd, Dean of the Williams School of Business at Bishop’s University, brings extensive expertise in strategic leadership, organizational governance, change management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Celine Cooper, Executive Director, PPF Academy and Action Canada Fellowship at the Public Policy Forum, strengthens MIGS through her combination of high-level networks, public policy expertise, ability to develop strategic partnerships, and leadership in training the next generation of Canadian decision-makers.
• Claude Théoret, Innovobot
• Kyle Matthews, Executive Director, MIGS.
• Marie Lamensch, Director of Global Affairs, MIGS.

These appointments reflect MIGS’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its leadership with diverse and high-level expertise. At a time of growing geopolitical uncertainty, the members’ collective perspectives will be invaluable in guiding MIGS’s strategic direction and expanding its impact.
