Dr. Margaret B.K. Shepherd is Dean of the Williams School of Business and Full Professor of Business at Bishop’s University. Her work brings together higher education, leadership, governance, and public service, shaped in part by more than 25 years of experience with the Department of National Defence through roles connected to the Royal Military College of Canada and the Canadian Forces College.
She has contributed to teaching and curriculum in strategic leadership, organizational change, defence education, and international security, including as the Strategic Leadership course lead for the National Security Programme. She is also a Fellow with the Centre for International and Defence Policy at Queen’s University and serves on the editorial boards of the Canadian Military Journal and the Journal of International Professional Military Education at Marine Corps University.
Margaret currently serves as the Quebec Regional Deans’ Representative nationally with the Business Schools Association of Canada. She brings a strong interest in institutional partnerships, applied learning, and cross-sector dialogue, and is pleased to contribute to the work of the Montreal Institute of Global Studies in support of conversations that connect education, leadership, policy, and complex global challenges.
